On April 4th, join Tara Shannon & Friends at Homestead Pub in Embrun for a heartfelt evening of music in memory of Jonathan Pitre, our beloved “Butterfly Child.”
Jonathan, who lived with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), was known around the world for his courage, compassion, and unwavering spirit. EB is a rare and painful genetic skin condition that makes the skin as fragile as a butterfly’s wings which is how children like Jonathan became known as “Butterfly Children.” Despite unimaginable daily challenges, Jonathan chose joy. He became a powerful advocate for EB awareness and research, inspiring thousands with his resilience, humour, and deep empathy for others.
Jonathan passed away on April 4, 2018, at just 17 years old, but his light continues to shine brightly in our community and far beyond.
